It has been quite a week. I have been rather chipper. I am still feeling like my energy has been zapped by mid afternoon. I am sleeping well at night, no crazy dreams or anything so I am not sure why I have to brew a pot of coffee to watch the evening news.
On the diet front, I have lost eight pounds so far. I have been exercising a bit more. I borrowed Buffy's stationery bike and have been in the pool a few times. I also now have a pedometer. For our Anniversary, Beau got me a bag full of goodies so I can go full steam ahead with this whole weight loss thing. A pedometer, ankle and wrist weights, a water bottle, and two bags of sugar free peanut butter cups. I have only had one. I love peanut butter cups and I am sure that I have mentioned this but just so there is no confusion I want to be buried with them when I die. Avery and Haylee hit me up for some out of the first bag as soon as they saw them. He also got me this high-tech fanny pack with a hose attached to it. Apparently, you are supposed to fill the bag inside with water so you stay hydrated when you walk or run. I am looking at this item as more of a party essential. I am thinking fill it with Vodka and Cranberry while walking downtown. Put on an ugly flowered shirt and a camera around my neck and blend in. I also thought that I could re-gift. Josh would be tickled pink to have a ready supply of Bud! Since I may actually start walking for sport I think I will hold on to it for a while and use it as intended.
This most certainly has been a sad week for Celebrities. Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mayes died in the same week. I was never much of a Farrah fan growing up but Michael Jackson that is a whole different story. I grew up in the Eighties and he was the epitome of the Eighties. I remember how badly I wanted one of those red leather jackets with all the zippers. Billy Mayes is not the same caliber of celebrity but he is the only person I know that made screaming to sell shit an art form. His commercials were rather annoying but I bet you have a bottle of Orange Glo under your kitchen sink!
Beau and I went out last night. I was shocked because he actually wanted to go out. I was thinking no, that I really did not feel like it but changed my mind. And, I am glad I did. We had so much fun. We started out at Angelo's and only stayed for maybe a half hour. There were approximately seven people there. I require more people to watch then that! We then drove to what used to be Quivers. Our friend, Bonnie owned it but sold out. We we got there the new place was not in business any longer. Next, we went to a little bar near our house and again, only a handful of people. Finally, we ended up at New View Bar in Highview. There were lots and lots of people to watch there. One in particular, I called the dancing drunkle! He was just an average looking guy but his dance moves were something worth noting. Hilarious! I started something when I went to dance with him. He obviously never watched Dirty Dancing and not a fan of Patrick Swayze, "This is your dance space and this is my dance space". I was almost running away from him. Luckily, some of the younger girls there thought this was as comical as I did because they came out to the dance floor and took him over! Whoo, what a relief! Of course, that didn't stop the drunkle from stalking me all night even when I was sitting next to Beau. I even had to recruit a guy that was standing outside smoking when I went out because tiny dancer followed me. "Jimmy" as I called him played along and got him to go back inside. There was another guy out on the smoking patio that was rather chatty. I know that he has a farm or tends a farm, that he had to wake up early today, that he has a motorcycle and that he has balance issues. There was a makeshift bar stool pulled up to the picnic table. It appeared to be a high back bar seat atop a five gallon bucket that most likely once held mayonnaise or pickles. Gives a whole new meaning to the term bucket seat! He sat in it, leaned back a bit and Smash! Backwards on his ass...of course I laughed! It is probably not necessary to say that I was at a Karaoke Bar. I met some people there that I had known back in the AOL days. We had chatted in a Louisville chat room back in the late nineties. The same chat room where I had met Beau. At the end of the night there was a tribute to Michael. We all danced to "Beat it" and "Billie Jean"! It was so much fun. We didn't leave until closing time. I haven't done that in about ten years. We stopped at Waffle House for breakfast. Real food was so delicious! I did have the hiccups for about twenty minutes which was really ticking me off!
Today, has not been so exciting. Mostly laundry. Mandi and Josh came out for dinner. I grilled chicken and steak. Not to toot my own horn but, If I weren't such a good cook I would not be battling a weight problem. My dad was a chef and my older brother was a chef so I think it is genetic. What? Haven't you ever heard of sous chef DNA?
Looking forward to tomorrow.
I am going to miss Billy Mays like crazy... I really thought he was going to branch out into the adult entertainment toy business too... gag balls, strap-ons, you name it, he could have sold it! Hahaha...
ReplyDeleteI can hear him screaming it now, "LADIES, ARE YOUR HANDS TIRED FROM BUFFING THE FLOOR WITH MY ORANGE GLO, WELL DO I HAVE THE PRODUCT FOR YOU....BUT WAIT! IF YOU ACT NOW WE WILL DOUBLE THE OFFER"!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 8 lb loss! I know how awesome that feels! Good for you!!
