Today has been like every other day except for the extreme energy I have. I do believe I am getting manic! A couple reasons for this. I started painting my living room, hall and bathroom Friday night. A good project usually gets me going. The good news is is that I actually completed it all yesterday. Usually large projects end up getting ditched halfway through. It looks quite good if I do say so myself! It is the same color as my morning coffee. I guess it would be important to mention that I use a lot of coffeemate! In between painting on Friday, my sister Mandi and her fiance Josh came over with my neice, Emily. Mandi and I drank wine (a lot of wine). The kids played. We laughed and laughed. She is a character I tell you and when you get the both of us together forget about it...you would feel like you did 100 sit-ups. Don't think it can get any better? Then comes Saturday.
Saturday night I met up with a pretty large group of old high school friends that I had recently reconnected with on FaceBook (that FaceBook is something, I might be addicted). We all had the plan to meet at Buckheads on the River at 7:00 but as usual I am late. No fault of my own, Beau always makes us late. If i die before he does don't go by what arrangements are listed in the Obits just show up the next day! So we arrive at about 7:30 and luckily, I wasn't the only straggler. So many of my friends were there that I was really close to and shame on me I haven't seen in nearly twenty years. Dinner was great...I love the cheese boulders(my arteries are clogging just by typing that). Conversation was better! Then to the fun part the after dinner party. We all drove back over the bridge to Kentucky to a little redneck bar called Angilo's in the neighborhood where we all grew up. Two words, Kara and Oke There should be some ordinance that prohibits people from holding an adult beverage in one hand and a microphone in the other! Nevertheless, SUPER FUN!! In all honesty, I should not be drinking with the medication that I take but a little bit sometimes never hurt anyone. Sunday was just kind of a recovery day, I didn't do much of anything except watch Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice that I had DVR'd since Thursday. My teenage daughter, Danielle said I was going to cry my eyes out...but nothing (another clue that I am manic). Monday I started and finished the hall and bathroom, granted most of my bathroom is tiled so it's not like it was a real room! Today was the cleanup and put back together stage. I almost have all of my pictures back on the walls. I suspect by Thursday I will have every thing back in order. I have no choice. My daughter is having a sleepover for her 8th birthday on Friday. Hopefully, I can hold on for a week or so before the CRASH!
First of all, welcome to the world of blog! It is a scary place where everyone can see everything and has an opinion when you don't want it! But I am glad that you are giving it a shot! It is actually quite rewarding to write down your thoughts - even if it isn't daily. I know it helps me. Well...sometimes!
ReplyDeleteYour last several days sound like an awesome good time! I sure wish I still lived in Louisville so that I could connect with you and do a duo at the ol' karaoke bar! But hopefully we can get together sometime while I am in town! I would love to catch up! I feel like we have connected more since our FB reconnection than we did in high school! =]
You should definitely post some pics of your huge project of painting - I hate to paint so I am super impressed of how much you did in such a quick amount of time! If you need help posting pics, let me know!
From one blogger to another...stay tuned!!
